Really?

This has been really heavy on my mind lately. I guess I have not found my answer yet because I have not stopped talking about it. I have talked to my co-workers, friends and even a lady waiting for her order at Pick-up Sticks. I know it sounds like I am obsessed, but Really! What happened to Social Edict?

When I was a kids...(the music starts to play as we go WAAAAAYYYY back in time..)
We were taught:
Don't call people until 9 in the morning
Don't call people after 8 at night
All adults were addressed as Mr, Mrs, Auntie, or Uncle. Never by their first name. ( Am I an adult now? Can I call people by their first name?)
People did not show great affection in public. A quick hug and kiss for friends. (NO MAKING OUT!)
When we go to a concert or church, we do not leave when someone is talking or singing or performing and do not come back in until break in time again. We do not eat pickles or chips or ANYTHING in a concert. (No, I do not mean a rock concert or those kinds of concerts...Orchestra, Choir...you know!)
There are just some topics of conversation that is not meant to be shared with just anyone in the room. Unless I know you really well, I don't want to know about your BM!)
Men opened doors for ladies and held chairs for them
You did not hear cursing used as every other word in a conversation. It was saved for if you hurt your self unexpectedly.
You did not show your underwear in public!
Some parts of your body were ALWAYS covered
YOU DID NOT SPIT! (This is so gross!) (Unless you got sand in your mouth when on the beach!)
You were private with your phone calls
You were private with your music
OK you get the picture. I can go on about this subject!
So when did it change? When did it become OK to be rude? Did it happen with the commercials that tell you "Your Worth It", "Do What You Want Today".... Now I spend most of my time working at a high school and I see way too much. Kids eat while the teachers are talking, they leave during a lecture, they make out EVERYWHERE, they spit on the ground where people are walking, they have more cheeks out of their pants then in. At times I want to ask the kids if they have a mommy! Did no one teach them these things are wrong? Now I am trying not to focus so much on the wrong things they do and focus in on the right things, but sometimes I am just overwhelmed at how these are our future leaders. It is amazing how many times a day I am asking boys if they kiss their mothers with that mouth they just used to spew out trash words or made out with a girl that just made out with a different boy durning the last break...
Sooo I ask you, when did it change?

Post Script: So After I posted this I was in the school parking lot and a girl was in her car changing her clothes. Now not just taking a sweatshirt off with another shirt under, NO. It is changing EVERYTHING! When I asked her WHY her response was that she was late and didn't have time to go to the locker room. REALLY?!
